Greetings
This
week we are looking forward to hosting a module class on Tools for Biblical
Langauge Study. We are pleased to have Dr. Thomas Strouse as our instructor
for the week. Dr. Strouse is the pastor of the Bible Baptist Church and
President/Dean of the Bible Baptist Theological Seminary in Cromwell,
Connecticut.
Work
this week has been ceaseless in preparation for next week's seminary module
class and the preparation of Toepke Hall, which will be used for seminary
housing.
AMERICAN HERITAGE QUOTE: Samuel
Adams 1722-1803
Father
of the American Revolution
"Our contest is not only whether we ourselves shall be free,
but whether there shall be left to mankind an asylum on
earth for civil and religious liberty."
BIBLE MEMORY VERSE: The
Lips of the Wise
"The lips of the wise disperse knowledge:
but the heart of the foolish doeth not so."
Proverbs 15:7
MESSAGE
OUTLINE: By Pastor Caswell
Reeves:
Philippians 1:21
Intro. For most people the meaning of life is living
with good health, or living with enough money to get along in a comfortable
fashion. However, the Bible teaches that once we get saved that we are not our
own, but that we belong to our Saviour, Jesus Christ. Note what the
Scripture instructs in this matter:
I. For To Me To Live Is Christ Philp.1:21
A. Eternal Life Jn.14:6
B. Bread of Life Jn.6:35
C. Abundant Life Jn.10:10
D. Resurrection & Life Jn.11:25
II. For To Me To Die Is Gain
Philp.1:21
A. Death to Self Belief Jn.1:4-13
B.
Death to Self Control 1
Cor.15:31; 2 Cor.3:5
C. Death to Self Physical Heb.9:27; 2 Cor.5:8
Concl. If you are saved your life belongs to Jesus
Christ. The Apostle Paul said, I am a slave for Christ. He said that because he
knew the ransom Christ had paid to set him free from his sin. And he was
willing to live for Christ. Real life is in Christ and living for Him. Have you
committed yourself to Christ?

Summary of Tools for Biblical Languages
HBTS
Module Class
March 8-12, 2010, Endicott, NY
This
course is designed to expose the seminarian to the tools available for the
initial employment of the biblical languages of Hebrew and Greek for
exegesis. The seminarian will learn how
to write and pronounce the Hebrew consonants and vowels and Greek letters. The professor will provide basic theological
vocabulary from each language for the benefit of the seminarian. The professor will summarize basic grammar,
and demonstrate the employment of interlinear texts for meaningful word studies
and text exegesis. The seminarian will
actually participate in exegesis from interlinear texts on both OT and NT passages. Finally, the seminarian will be exposed to
various software helps available.
We appreciate Dr.
Strouse giving us a preview description of this new course. We are excited
about hosting this course in March. Dr. Strouse also believes that with the
help of interlinear handouts, men and women will be able to appreciate and
enjoy this course.
Seminary News:

New
Seal (L), which represents both
Heritage Baptist Church and Theological Seminary, reflecting the importance of
the Scripture through which is revealed both the cross of Christ and the church
of God. It gives dates of establishment: HBC in 1992 and HBTS in 2009 and
Scripture reference respectively. HBC:
Psalm 119:11, Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they
are the rejoicing of my heart.
HBTS: Deuteronomy 29:29, The secret things belong unto the LORD our
God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for
ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
Toepke Hall (picture at top on right), is presently undergoing remodeling and repairs.
This building and 20 acres was willed to the church by a former member of the
church, Mrs. Svea "Tillie" Toepke , who died at the age of 97 and who served
the Lord faithfully. It is our desire to use this property for the Lord's work.
We are hoping to use the house as a place to house visiting seminary module
instructors and students, as well as other guests to the church. This ministry is hoped to be an
encouragement and an aid to the servants of God.
This week work was
concentrated on final touches.
Continue to lift us up in prayer for good use of time, labor and needed finances to accomplish this task by our March module class.
