MAY 2010
Report
Dear
Pastor and brethren in Christ,
“As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.”
1 PETER 2:2,3
The Lord continues to bless in the
ministry of the “Iglesia Bautista El Calvario” as those the Lord has sent
our way continue to grow in the “milk of the Word”. Needless to say, it is a challenge to get
everyone to attend the studies that we have for their growth in the Word. We deal with people that are working around
the clock to provide their families with the basics in life. Nevertheless, it is a blessing to see them
slowly grow in the Lord and to apply the principles of the Word in their
lives.
As in all congregations, our brethren have
many prayer needs. Please continue to
pray for Libiston (the first baptized convert under this ministry) and
his sister, Lisbed. Maria and
Tomas (led to the Lord under our ministry)and their son, Henry. Jose (who is slowly growing in the
Word since his conversion several months ago) and his mother, Olivia. Olga (please pray for the salvation of
her husband Leonel)and their children Sussy and Daniel. Enrigue (who is in great need of a
job), Miguel, Ana and their daughters, Michelle and Natalie. Juan, Marie, John and Jonathan (Juan plays the piano for
the church). Francisco, Sandra
and their newborn daughter, Genesis (please pray for their
salvation). Elaine (please pray
for the salvation of her husband, David), Yolanda, Jorge and their
five children.
Gerardo, Berdina and their children Yael and Dylan (all in need of
salvation). For our mothers,
Benigna and Cornelia, and for other family members that attend,
(Betty, Judy and Albert) for their salvation. Everyone of these need your prayers for
either salvation or spiritual growth and commitment to the Lord.
Please pray for my wife’s mother,
Cornelia as she recently suffered Congestive Heart Failure. Thank the Lord He spared her life and she
continues to get her strength back. She
will be 86 years young next week and is a faithful attendee of the church
services. Please also pray for her
salvation and complete surrender to the Lord in all areas of her life. Also pray for my Aunt Judy, as she
has recently had an eye extracted due to complications with Diabetes. Please pray for the salvation of her and
her husband, Albert. They have been attending church services for several
weeks now.
Please also pray for me as I have been
diagnosed with a torn ligament in the right Rotator cuff. Surgery is possible in the near future.
Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support!
MERRY CHRISTMAS
and a
HAPPY 2010 from the UREY FAMILY!
DECEMBER 2009
Report
Dear Pastor and brethren in Christ;
“Giving thanks always for
all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ.” EPHESIANS
5:20
On behalf of Janet and I,
we would like to wish everyone of you a very blessed Christmas season and God’s
richest blessings throughout the New Year of
2010!
We are once again coming to the end of another year, 2009. As we reflect on this past year we can only thank our Lord for all things that came into our lives during the year.
We started the year 2009 with the successful operation on a Abdominal Aorta Aneurysm that was diagnosed approximately two years prior to my operation on February 18th. Just this last week I had my follow up examination and all continues to go well with the graft that was inserted. My next follow up exam will be the end of next year 2010. I thank the Lord for allowing us to continue serving Him in the ministry!
The Lord continues to bless in the Spanish ministry here in the Denver area with more souls being saved (a total of eight this year) and more families attending the church services. Of those eight saved, five continue to attend the services and to grow in the Word of God. Please pray for Jose, Ashley, Michelle, Maria and Thomas. We have now started giving free English lessons in the church, not only for those who attend the services, but to make new contacts of people that need to learn the English language. We have had a couple of the men attend our church services also. Please pray for Salvador, Alex, Alfonso, Alberto and Ernesto.
We are most thankful for each of you as you have
remained faithful in “holding the ropes of prayer and financial giving”
throughout the year 2009! May the
Lord abundantly bless you and your endeavors for Him this coming
year!
All for His Glory!

Report
Dear Pastor and
brethren;
“We having the same spirit of faith,
according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken;
we also believe and therefore speak”

CORINTHIANS 4:13
Our lives continue to be a witness to those around us, either through our words or actions. We rejoice in the salvation of four souls: Michelle,(a 16 year old daughter of. a couple from El Salvador) prayed for reassurance of her salvation as she had prayed as a younger child for salvation. Also a young couple, Maria and Thomas both prayed for salvation. Maria grew up in a Christian home, but had never prayed for salvation. Thomas came to church because he wants his son to have the same qualities as he saw in the life of a Christian nephew. That is a wonderful example of how our life witness affects those that are watching us. Karen (a young Bolivian mother) also prayed to the Lord for salvation. For several years now her two young daughters have been going to a Baptist Church with a family friend who cared for their souls. Karen’s daughters have continually prayed for the salvation of their parents and continually asked them to go to church with them. Because of some home difficulties, Karen finally realized she needed the Lord to take control of her life. All four of these souls are rejoicing in their walk with the Lord and are slowly growing in the Word of God. Please continue to pray for them as they grow in the Lord.
Another blessing was that two of the brethren,
Libiston and his sister, Lisbed
got convicted by the Lord about tithing.
Through a series of different circumstances the two realized that God was speaking to them about tithing (which they had never done before). They now “joyfully” give to the Lord that which is His.
Because of a need we saw around us of the brethren
desiring to learn the English language, we have started giving free English
lessons. Our first class had nine
adults, three of which do not come to our church services. We anticipate the class will grow in
attendance and we are praying that this endeavor will open the doors to new
contacts for the Kingdom of our Lord.
Please pray for us as we continue to be a witness of that which “we
have believed and therefore speak”
WITNESSING THROUGH THE JAIL MINISTRY
We rejoice in the 12 souls saved through
the Jail ministry. Because this is a
transition facility, some of these men are only seen one time. We trust them to the Lord because only the He
knows who was sincere in their prayer to Him.
This ministry continues to be a blessing and encouragement to our
church.
We had the joy of taking care of two of our seven
grandchildren for a period of two weeks.
It was a joy and a blessing to get to know them better and it just made
us realize how much we miss not being around our grandchildren. We also have the joy of reporting that
three of our grandsons (Matthew, Mark and Luke) just got baptized and also our
eldest daughter, Michelle.
Thank you for your prayers and
giving!

Dear Pastor and families in Christ;
“They that sow in tears shall reap
in joy. He that goeth forth and
weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with
rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” PSALM 126:5 &
6
Olivia (age 64) came to our church about a year ago. She had received the Lord in Peru, S.A. and is now living in Denver with her son, Jose (age 40). During the past year, Olivia has “tearfully prayed” for the salvation of her son Jose and for her family in Peru. In March, Olivia returned to Peru because of health reasons, and during her absence, Jose got arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. This was an “attention getter” for Jose to realize that he needed the Lord in his life. I received a phone call from Jose, stating he wanted to attend our next church service. That was over two months ago and since then Jose has been coming for every Sunday and midweek service. About three weeks ago, Jose made a decision to accept the Lord as his Saviour. Olivia has returned to Denver from Peru and she praises the Lord every day for the change she has seen in her son’s life. God truly answered the “tears” for her lost son.
Yolanda and Jorge (foster parents to several children) are sowing tears, not only for their biological son, Alberto (who claims to be saved, but has problems with alcohol), but also for the salvation and recuperation of Miranda, (a nine year old foster child who just received a Kidney transplant).
“Joy” was reaped when Ashley (a 12 year old foster child who is now on a waiting list for a Kidney transplant), accepted the Lord as her Saviour.
Please also pray for two men, Martin and Victor who have made professions of faith, but have not been faithful in church services because of work schedules.
Thank you for your continued prayers for our family and the ministry. A blessing of extreme “joy” is that we just received a phone call from our six-year-old granddaughter, Elizabeth, excitedly stating that she had received the Lord as her Saviour in Vacation Bible School. PRAISE THE LORD!
For His Glory!
Thank you for supporting us in prayer and finances!
Dear Pastor and Brethren in Christ,
“Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen; that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.” ISAIAH 43:10
May we each take the opportunity this Christmas Holiday Season to “witness” to the world of our Lord Jesus Christ.
WITNESSES IN DENVER
God continues to bless the ministry, here at the “Iglesia Bautista El Calvario”, as we each continue to “witness” of God’s love to those around us. We thank God for sending our way the Guerra family. Bro. Joe has been “witnessing” at a boxing ring and has come in contact with several men and their families. Ruth (Joe’s mother) has a desire to serve the Lord by playing the piano during the Spanish Church services. The Lord has also sent another family to the Spanish Church, the Navarro family (Libinston and Lisbed). God continues to bless Libinston at his place of employment as he continues to “witness” to his co-workers. The Aguirre family just started attending the Spanish services. They are from Honduras and El Salvador.
WITNESSES IN SPAIN
God continues to
bless the ministries in Guadalajara and
Malaga. It has been
reported that the Church in Guadalajara has reached about 100 in
assistance plus ten new converts have been baptized. The Church in Malaga have outgrown their facilities and are now in the process of expanding their Children’s
ministry to another nearby location. We
thank God for allowing us to have had a part in the beginning of these two
ministries. The Churches are now being
pastored by Angel Torres and Sami Perez.
WITNESSES IN OUR
FAMILY
Even though we are now miles apart from our daughters and their families, we continually hear how the Lord is blessing them as they “witness and minister” in their respective places. Michelle, Paul and our five grandsons are living and ministering in upstate New York. They are all involved in their Church ministry and are enjoying a continued growth in the attendance of the Church. Melissa and Eric are both very much involved in their Church ministry in Nixa, Missouri. Our youngest daughter, Yvette, Chad and our two grandchildren are anxiously awaiting the time when they will be able to go to the country of Spain as Missionaries, to “witness” to the Spanish people.
We count it as a privilege and honour that the Lord has allowed us (our extended family and our Church family) to “witness” of Him to the lost world. Thank you for continued prayer and financial support!
May you
have a very MERRY
CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Dear Pastor and brethren in Christ; OCTOBER 2007 REPORT
"A man's heart deviseth his way: but the Lord directeth his steps." Proverbs 16:9
It is comforting to know that our lives and the Ministry are in the lord's Hands and Direction. Even though our hearts influence in the decisions we continually make, we can rest assured that the Lord opens and closes the doors. Since our return to the U.S.A. from the field of SPAIN in 2004, our hearts desire was to start a Spanish Language Ministry through the Park View Bible Baptist Church here in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. We have been actively serving the Lord in this Church, first to build up the English ministry (since they suffered a split in 2004 and needed to get back on their feet). The Lord has accomplished this with an average attendance of about 27 during Sunday Morning Services. Our second emphasis was to start a Spanish Outreach Ministry through the Church. We are now meeting with an average of about 17 people.
The Lord has presented some circumstances in which we are now going to be redirecting our ministry emphasis. At the end of September, we held a Church Business Meeting in which we have proposed to the brethren that they call another brother to Pastor the Park View Bible Baptist Church. They have agreed and will relieve us of the responsibility of Pastor when another brother has taken over the Pastorate. This will enable us to concentrate one hundred percent in reaching the Spanish speaking for the Lord (using the facilities of Park View Bible Baptist Church). Please pray with us as these changes are made.
SPANISH MINISTRY
The Lord continues to bless in the Spanish Outreach Ministry. We continually need prayer for those who are attending the meetings. They show a strong interest in listening to the Word of God, they enjoy singing songs to the Lord and the fellowshp, and yet there are those that have not made a decision to follow the Lord in Salvation. Please pray for the salvation of Gerardo, Leo and Karen, as they have come sporadically in the last few months.
ENGLISH MINISTRY
These last months have been trying months of illness and operations for our Church brethren. One brother had an emergency with his heart defibrillator, a sister in the Lord had to have her wrist operated on, and another had to have a hip replacement. The most critcal was that of a brother who was diagnosed with cancer. Inspite of all these emergencies, the Lord has blessed with the salvation of another soul! Please pray for Ben, as he prayed for salvation after a Men's Prayer Meeting.
As the Lord "directs our steps" in His Ministry, we want to thank you for your prayers and the sacrificial financial support!
In His Service!
