And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every

creature. (Mk.16:15) What is the preaching of the Gospel? Today, the Gospel

means different things to different people. For example there is the Social

Gospel, the Political Gospel, the Patriotic Gospel, the Special Cause Gospel and

the Self-Interest Gospel that makes you feel good. But what was Jesus speaking

of when He commanded the church to, PREACH THE GOSPEL

Preaching the Gospel explains the Scriptures (Act.2:14-20)

It gives purpose to life’s events explaining Scripture

It shares the whole counsel of the Word of God

Preaching of the Gospel declares that salvation is in the JESUS (Act.2:21-23)

It identifies Jesus as the “Jesus of Nazareth” (22)

It identifies Jesus as a man approved by God (22)

By miracles - healing

By wonders - raising the dead

By signs - birth

It identifies Jesus as the one delivered and crucified (23)

Preaching of the Gospel is made personal (Act.2:23)

You by wicked hands took Him (23)

You by wicked hands crucified Him (23)

You by wicked hands have slain Him (23)

Preaching the Gospel declares the Resurrection of Jesus (Act.2:24-32)

God raised Him (24)

God loosed Him from death (24)

God promised and kept His word (25-32)

Preaching the Gospel declares the Ascension of Jesus (Act.2:33-35)

Which clearly exalts Jesus (33)

Which clearly recognizes Jesus as the one “shedding forth of the Spirit”(33)

Which clearly identifies Jesus as the LORD (34)

Which clearly reveals Jesus as the conqueror of all His enemies (35)

Preaching the Gospel makes Application to it’s audience (Act.2:36-37)
